Customs Affairs Specialist

In the first half of 2013, LANXESS’ largest leather chemicals plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu province came on stream. The facility with an investment of up to USD 40 million is designed for a capacity of 50,000 metric tons per year. The Changzhou site also houses a leather chemical development laboratory.

Since 2013, the Material Protection Products business unit operates a microbiology test lab in Changzhou to strengthen its competitiveness in the biocides business in Asia. In addition, the business unit manufactures Preventol biocides in Changzhou. The main application of these products is the preservation of diverse products, such as coatings, latex, adhesive, metal working fluid, water treatment, and construction material.

In November 2017, LANXESS announced to build a new plant for high-performance plastics in Changzhou for around EUR 20 million. In March 2018, LANXESS celebrated the new plant’s ground breaking. The compounding plant is planned to go on stream in Q2 2019 and will produce up to 25,000 tons of Durethan and Pocan branded high-tech plastics for the automotive sector and the electrical and electronics industry.

 

Job Highlights

Please shortly describe the most important, appealing 5 to 8 tasks of this position:

  • Track the information of imported goods, solve problems and complete customs clearance in time, ensure the customs declaration is accurate and in compliance with customs policies and regulations.Track the information of imported goods, solve problems and complete customs clearance in time, ensure the customs declaration is accurate and in compliance with customs policies and regulations.

  • Communicate and cooperate with related departments to ensure that the goods can be delivered within the standard delivery date, and ensure compliance with the enterprise safety management system.  
  • Familiar with Customs laws and regulations, familiar with the import and export clearance requirements for chemicals, equipment, and spare parts, responsible for the application of 3C, energy efficiency and other related quarantine supervision licenses.
  • Responsible for reviewing Customs taxes, freight fees, and payment applications, as well as reviewing payment bills.
  • Archive management of customs clearance docs to ensure that the docs and data are accurate, complete, searchable and traceable.

Requirements

  • Specific Education: College degree or above in international trade etc.
  • Work Experience: Familiar with Customs policies and regulations, proficient in the use of related Customs system for example:Single Windows, with at least 3 years Customs experience.
  • Special Skills: Proficient in operating office software such as Excel, with priority given to experience in importing chemicals or equipment spare parts
